Feria San Marco Again

It was well before 10pm the supposed closing time of the Tsunami rollercoaster at the fair so we made sure we got there in good time.

More nice art en route.

Back at the fair!

The zombie woman was still standing tall and served as a great beacon to attract you to the park. The Tsunami ride barely visible behind it serving as a similar beacon to us nerds!

We made our way to the exhibition hall through which we had to go to reach the rollercoaster.

So we'd made it to the coaster to find it still closed. It looks like we'd been misinformed the night before and the guard must have been making reference to the exhibition hall. Not seeing this ride running having planned the entire trip around it hurt the three of us initially and we all dealt with it in different ways. I laughed it off and tried to find the humour in our plight, Thomas took to standing around the ride hoping someone would come and open it for him. Tal, the least impacted, reverted to just taking lots of photos of the ride; not that there was much else we could have done.

Subsequent discussions with the staff had highlighted that the ride was due to be sold to the German park and the fair owners had assumed that would go through so proceeded with the construction of a new little arena immediately in front of the ride. Now it appears the coaster is too close to that structure and hasn't been given the relevant permission to operate. So for now the coaster remains SBNO which in coaster parlance means Standing But Not Operating.

Another group that were visiting the fair around the same time as our visit were told that the ride was going to be scrapped and wanting to be the first with the news quickly announced that to the internet only to be criticised for putting out misinformation. This led to some rather irate feedback in their direction, which they quickly had to redact. To their credit they did then find a website where the coaster is listed for sale. As it was the same individual who attempted to steal our thunder announcing the location of the Rand Fair Schwarzkopf whilst we were still on holiday, we found this all quite amusing. If the karma was any stronger Boy George would be singing about it!

So we weren't going to get Tsunami so we made do with taking the opportunity of the nice weather to get some daytime shots of the coasters and rides starting with the rib bruising "Speedy"

The booster is always a popular ride. I still think they need to give each rider a basketball and offer a prize if they make a far off basket shot.

Little Fluffy Clouds....cue ambient music.

I would guess in a previous life this was on the German fair circuit.

The Zyklon

A well themed pentapus.

It was great how well maintained these rides were.

This is a travelling log flume ride complete with water spraying animatronic animals.

The wacky worm again.

I would hazard a guess that no licencing deals were done here. I do look forward to the Fast and Furious Spiderman movie though.

We left our car in the car park and took a walk over to the other part of the fair, a short walk away. What would we find there?
